Cultural Trip to YinggeStudentGuest
01 “Who knows why the eco-friendly coaster can absorb water? “, a smiling lady asked the crowd. “Who can use your forefinger to make the “lucky cup” create melody?” The ice breaking caught the participants’ eyes.

Benjamin Chapman of USA made the right answer to receive the magic coaster while India’s Chheda Tanvi Dhiren sounded the lucky cup to win the gift and applauses. Students, guests and staffs absorbed were all absorbed in and enjoyed the delights of hand-made craft.

The most highlighted part was doing a mosaic handicraft. With creative ideas, the students designed the draft before they glued it into a wooden frame. Finally, a masterpiece was created, ready to be brought home.

The old town of Yingge, our next destination, is famous for its high quality ceramic culture. All participants explored the old streets and unique workshops to learn the core of Taiwan’s pottery culture with great enthusiasm. Members from each team shared their cultures and chatted about everything with new friends from all over the world. This trip to Yingge definitely has been a memorable journey to them all.

Int’l Jury Meeting 2 MentorObserver
01 While students from the participating countries were exploring the unique beauty and exotic cultures of Taiwan and getting acquainted with other foreign students, all the mentors and observers worked exceedingly long hours on questions of the written test. In order to have a short but sufficient discussion, the Scientific Committee arranged this meeting into three stages. During the first stage, Dr. Chang and the Scientific Committee went over all the test items rapidly to see whether there were any suggestions on any particular items. Next, all the mentors were divided into three groups in accordance with their specialty. In this stage, the mentors had to revise all the questions that had been previously marked down. At last, all the mentors began to translate all the finalized test items for their students. The mentors did not hesitate to voice their opinions on test questions for they were eager to help come up with flawless test questions. The meeting began at 3 p.m. in the afternoon and finally ended until over 1a.m. in the next morning. Joining in this meeting was as though running a marathon. Nevertheless, all the teachers showed their persistence and extreme patience throughout the whole process, with every intention to make this competition a successful event which will be worth remembered for many years to come.
